Health Development

 

Under this initiative, services including medical and health education camps, medical relief funds, poor patient funds, public health education, health initiatives for the elderly and promotion of activities under national health programmes are provided. The brief outline of each activity is given below:

Medical and Health Education Camps:

  • Periodic camps in remote rural and slum area with poor health services.
  • Patients are provided ambulatory health care services and free drugs
  • Swami Pindi Dassji Charitable Eye Hospital and Research Center ,Amb ,Distt. Una,HP does cataract surgeries in collaboration with Shri Pindi Dass Ashram Trust Amb Distt Una. Joint collaborative partnership has been formed to develop Eye Hospital.

Medical Relief:

  • Foundation provides medical relief to poor and needy patients by providing them with drugs and financial support.
  • The beneficiaries for the scheme are screened by a standing health committee.

Poor Patient Fund:

  • Foundation also contributes to poor patient fund of PGI and other hospitals as and when required.
  • It also raises resources for poor patients by public donation.

Public Health Education Sessions:

  • Awareness camps about common health problems with the community involvement and participation in their prevention and control.
  • Mapping for migratory construction site labourers and their children for provision of services.

Construction Site Workers:

  • Pindi Foundation has also worked on Construction Site Workers in Chandigarh.
  • Total workers visited were 763 out of which 488 were males and 267 females during 2012.
  • The main construction sites visited were District Courts, Sector 43 Chandigarh, State Library, Sector 34 Chandigarh near Malwa Taxi Stand 54 Chd shooting Ranger Sector 25 Chandigarh and Punjab University Sector 25 Chandigarh.
  • Counselling and importance of antenatal care and immunization was provided to the pregnant women and children and services were arranged through health department, Chandigarh Administration.

National Health Programmes:

  • Members of the foundation are actively involved to strengthen TB, HIV/AIDS,RCH,NCD’s,Malaria and other vector born diseases etc by creating awareness and by encouraging utilization of facilities available.

Health initiative for elderly:

  • With the increase in life expectancy, changing family norms, and lack of social support, the elderly is becoming more vulnerable in Urban and Rural areas.
  • Volunteers of the foundation help in psychosocial support and arranging for health care delivery for elderly in community. Elderly helpline and emergency services is being initiated soon.
